I’m heading out in the morning to Charlotte, NC. It’s a long drive but I’m looking forward to it.
I’m a road trip junkie.
I’ve never been to the Democratic National Convention and I’m excited about this first. It’s not that I’m officially attending. I’m not a delegate nor a member of the press so I won’t be inside. I’m simply going to partake in the festivities outside the arena.
No crazy hats required.
I’ll take some video of my antics and if I get anything worth viewing I’ll post it on the blog.
I’m also going to be scoping out the men. The smartest political minds in the country will be in attendance, at least the brainiac Democrats. There might be a Republican or two as well (if David Frum were only single or Andrew Sullivan straight I’d be in hot pursuit).
Clever is my Kryptonite.
My friend Lisa recently relocated to Charlotte so I won’t be struggling to find a hotel room.
She’s been on a mission to find the hotspots where out-of-towners might gather. I just have to pack the right clothes. The look I’m hoping for is Sexy Smart Chick. I’ll have the muffin-top under control with shapewear but it may end up being Trying To Camouflage What’s Not What It Was.
I’ve had two more dates with MN (both positive) and I’ll write an update once I return. I also had a date with a guy who showed me a way to attend a Yankees game that I didn’t know existed. An amazing experience that I’ll tell you all about in the next week or so but here’s a teaser: I saw Kevin Costner in the flesh. Did you know he’s quite tall?
Apologies for not much of a blog post but sometimes I don’t feel inspired to write.
BUT, a road trip is good for the soul.
Kate and Nigel agree. They’re coming along.
